For any who didn't believe she smiles

Mohawk Baby. Even if I comb it flat after a bath, as soon as it dries it stands STRAIGHT up on the top of her head!

Toilet Travails
2 February 2007

Another Grant Story:

So we've had a rough time getting our Boy fully potty trained. He will pee in the toilet, but just would not poo there. Well, he's 3 now, and as a last resort, we've resorted to bribery. So, if he poos in the toilet, he gets a chocolate.

So about 6am he comes into where Kit and I sleep, and tells me he needs to poo. These days, that's a Daddy job, so I tell him to go get Daddy to help him. A few minutes later, he comes back in to me, nakey bottom, and says "I have poo on my bottom." I ask if Daddy is helping him, and he says "No. Chocolate, please." Kit is starting to wake up and wants to nurse, so I call to Kev that it's poo time, and hand Grant a slice of a "dark chocolate orange" I happen to have on my nightstand. I tell him to go back in the bathroom and wait for Daddy.

When Daddy goes into the bathroom, he sees the deposit in the potty, then Grant turns around and has dark chocolate smeared all over both hands, and all around his mouth! I'm sure you can imagine what that looked like! Kev says he nearly threw up at the sight. Thankfully, Grant hadn't finished the chocolate, and still had some in his hand, or I think Kev would've disowned him!!

Ah, parenting!!

I Cut My Hair
28 February 2007

So, yes, I did it; got my hair chopped off! As you may know, one's hair stops shedding when pregnant, but "catches up" after baby is born. After months of finding no hair in the brush or the drain, it has begun to fall out again. Rather than clog up the shower drain, I was going to have it cut 8 or nine inches. Instead of wasting all that hair, I figured I may as well go for a more extreme cut and donate the hair to Locks of Love. There is a smaller organization that does the same thing, but they require virgin hair. And since I have two kids... hee hee!

The pic at left shows the length before the Big Cut. Just a bit longer than my waist.

I talked to the stylist about how they suggest getting the most hair: to section the hair off, and cut several ponytails rather than just one. So we have 7 small ponytails to send. The longest (and largest) is seventeen inches.

And here I am After:

Looks like I changed the color, but it is just the lighting.
